SpotEx Exchange Hits 17 Assets, Warns of AI Memory Security Risks
SpotEx, a centralised cryptocurrency exchange, offers spot trading with 17 assets and 25 trading pairs. Its proof-of-reserves system provides cryptographic verification of reported customer asset balances, giving users transparency and trust. This system is supported by Merkle tree and SHA-256 cryptographic verification.
The exchange also offers community features such as coin voting, cryptocurrency faucets, and project listings. These features allow users and communities to participate beyond conventional cryptocurrency trading. SpotEx Coin, or SPOT, is the exchange's native internal coin and is available as a tradable asset on SpotEx.
However, the rise of AI agents in exchanges has introduced new security challenges. Microsoft warned that AI memory can increase an AI system's attack surface, making it vulnerable to memory poisoning. This occurs when attackers plant malicious information into an agent's stored context, which can later affect reasoning and planning.
Microsoft's research found that memory poisoning can persist across sessions, making it difficult to detect and prevent. The company's 2026 red-team findings reported that cross-domain prompt injection and memory poisoning were frequently combined. This highlights the need for stronger governance and protection of AI memory.
