Stable.com Expands Payment Infrastructure with Polygon Integration
Stable.com has expanded its payment infrastructure to include Polygon, allowing users to directly transfer funds from self-custodied wallets to bank accounts without going through a centralized platform. The integration combines the financial platform operated by Unlimit with Polygon's Open Money Stack, enabling users to keep control of their assets until the transfer reaches a bank account in their own name.
The key change is that users can now move funds from their own wallet into a bank transfer without being temporarily held by Stable.com. This simplifies the traditional stablecoin off-ramp process, which often requires users to send assets to a platform, wait for the deposit to clear, and then initiate a withdrawal to a bank.
Unlimit's payment network handles the fiat delivery side of the transaction, extending the service across more than 180 countries and supporting over 150 currencies. Polygon has processed $2.9 trillion in stablecoin transfer volume, with average fees near $0.002 and throughput exceeding 5,000 transactions per second.
