Stablecoin Boom Hits $310B, Could Fuel Bitcoin's Q4 Surge
The stablecoin market has surpassed $310 billion in value, a significant milestone as the market enters Q4. This growth is part of a broader trend, with the overall crypto market cap also on the rise. In just over 72 hours, the stablecoin market has added over $1 billion in liquidity, a bullish sign for the market.
Two major players, Tether and Circle, are driving this growth. Tether is reintroducing USDT to the Bitcoin network through its partnership with Utexo, potentially increasing stablecoin liquidity in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Circle is launching cirBTC, a 1:1 wrapped BTC token, allowing institutions to use BTC in lending, borrowing, and settlement without having to unwind their underlying Bitcoin exposure.
The growth of stablecoin liquidity is expected to boost Bitcoin's Q4 momentum, particularly in DeFi. If stablecoin supply continues to increase in tandem with liquidity growth, deeper DeFi flows could define Bitcoin's Q4 performance. The RWA Foundation's report shows that Circle's USDC has been a major contributor to stablecoin liquidity, with a gain of $881 million over 90 days.
