The stablecoin market has hit a new milestone in 2025, according to recent data. Tether and Circle, two major issuers of stablecoins, froze a record number of addresses, totaling 4,059. This is a significant increase from the combined total of the past four years, which stood at 3,199.

Breaking down the numbers, 653 Ethereum addresses were frozen, while 3,406 TRON addresses were affected. The majority of the frozen TRON addresses were executed by Tether, accounting for nearly all of them.

The corresponding frozen amounts were substantial, with 1.1 billion USDT and 23 million USDC respectively. This totals over $1.1 billion in frozen funds, a staggering figure that highlights the importance of stablecoin regulation and oversight.
