Stablecoin Interest Surges to 56% in US, but Trust Remains a Major Barrier
A recent survey conducted by Visa found that US interest in stablecoins has jumped to 56%, but many respondents were under the impression that stablecoins are as volatile as Bitcoin.
The study, which was part of a larger report called Money Travels 2026, also revealed that nearly two-thirds of Americans (64%) said trust in a payment method depends more on who offers it than on the technology.
Interestingly, willingness to use stablecoins rose to 45% when an existing financial provider offered them. Traditional banks and global payment networks were the most trusted providers of digital currency services, at 61% and 60%, respectively.
The study also highlighted the issue of trust in the context of fraud. Over half of respondents (56%) had never heard of stablecoins, while those who did assumed they fluctuated like Bitcoin.
