Stablecoin Supply Hits Record $303B: But Is Crypto Liquidity Reaching Traders?
Stablecoin supply has seen significant growth in recent weeks, reaching $303.1 billion according to DefiLlama's market chart.
This increase of approximately $2.23 billion over seven days is a notable milestone for the crypto industry, which has been recovering from a long market downturn.
USDT dominates the stablecoin market with 60.43% share, worth around $183 billion, followed by USDC with a market value of roughly $73.67 billion.
Despite this growth, experts warn that supply growth does not necessarily confirm adoption or activity in crypto markets, and other indicators such as transfer values, transaction counts, users, and velocity should also be considered.
The Ethereum stablecoin supply has shown an uneven distribution, with a decline of around $80 million over the same period, indicating that new liquidity may not be reaching traders across all chains.
