Stablecoins Lose $7.7B Amid Record Transaction Activity

The stablecoin market contracted in June 2026, losing $7.7 billion and cutting its total market capitalization to approximately $312 billion.

This decline marked a 2.39% monthly contraction, making it the largest monthly dollar reduction since the Terra-Luna collapse in May 2022.

Despite this drop in supply, transaction activity reached a record high, with Visa's adjusted transaction volume reaching $1.79 trillion in June, up 63% from May and 125% from June 2025.
