StablecoinX Appoints Franklin Templeton Veteran as New CEO Amid Ethena Expansion
StablecoinX, a Nasdaq-listed company focused on the Ethena ecosystem, has named Christopher Jensen as its new chief executive officer. Jensen comes from Franklin Templeton's digital assets team, where he helped build and manage their digital asset group after it launched in 2018.
Jensen replaces Ted Chen, who led StablecoinX through its public listing on Nasdaq in June and will continue to serve as chairman of the board. As CEO, Jensen is tasked with managing a significant corporate stake in ENA, Ethena's governance token, which totals around 3.03 billion tokens, roughly 20% of the total supply.
The appointment emphasizes StablecoinX's role as one of the largest institutional holders of ENA at a time when products related to Ethena are expanding. This includes Ethena Pay, a self-custodial app that enables users to spend, save, and transfer USDe, which launched across 48 countries just a week ago.
ENA has been volatile but has rebounded sharply in recent weeks, gaining over 80% in the past month to trade around $0.16, according to CoinGecko. Jensen's strategy will likely influence StablecoinX's engagement with Ethena governance and whether Ethena Pay's rollout leads to measurable increases in USDe usage and participation across the ecosystem.
