Stand With Crypto Backs Bipartisan Slate in Midterm Elections

Stand With Crypto (SWC), a US-based crypto advocacy organization, has announced its support for dozens of bipartisan candidates in the upcoming midterm elections. This move comes after the US Senate failed to pass the CLARITY Act, a key pro-crypto bill, with 49 yes votes but 11 short of the 60 needed. The organization's executive director, Mason Lynaugh, stated that SWC's three million advocates are shifting their focus to ensuring pro-crypto champions are in office to carry forward the fight for clear rules of the road.

The SWC has endorsed Republican Sen. Jon Husted of Ohio, who is running against crypto skeptic and former Senate Banking Committee Chair Sherrod Brown. The organization has also backed Senate candidates Ashley Hinson, a Republican in Iowa, and Chris Pappas, a Democrat running in New Hampshire. Additionally, SWC has endorsed over 30 sitting House members based on their recorded votes passing comprehensive digital asset framework bills through the House.

The organization's latest House endorsements include U.S. Representatives Shomari Figures (D-AL-02) and Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA-01), along with candidates Derek Merrin (R-OH-09) and Janelle Stelson (D-PA-10). SWC's endorsed candidate pool is split roughly equally between Democrats and Republicans.
