Stand With Crypto Unveils Expanded Slate of Midterm Endorsements
Following the US Senate's failure to pass the CLARITY Act, a bipartisan digital asset framework bill, Stand With Crypto has unveiled a larger slate of midterm endorsements. The organization, backed by Coinbase, has endorsed over 30 House members who voted in favor of the bill, including Representatives Shomari Figures and Mariannette Miller-Meeks. Stand With Crypto also plans to fund ads in six House races to support pro-crypto candidates. The organization's move comes after the Senate failed to pass the CLARITY Act, which received 49 yes votes versus the 60 needed.
The organization has also endorsed several Senate candidates, including Republican Sen. Jon Husted of Ohio and Democrat Chris Pappas running in New Hampshire. Stand With Crypto's executive director, Mason Lynaugh, stated, 'Following the Senate's recent failure to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, Stand With Crypto's more than three million advocates are shifting their energy and focus fully to ensuring we have pro-crypto champions in office who will carry forward our fight for clear rules of the road.'
The organization's endorsed candidate pool is roughly split equally between Democrats and Republicans. Incumbents who have taken public positions in committee hearings, press releases, or the media regarding digital assets and Web3 innovation have also won its support.
