Stand With Crypto Unveils Midterm Endorsements Amid Clarity Act Fallout

Coinbase-backed advocacy group Stand With Crypto has unveiled its midterm endorsements, backing several candidates in key Senate and House races. The group, which launched in 2023, aims to elect pro-crypto lawmakers and has framed the recent Clarity Act collapse as a turning point in their efforts.

The endorsements include Republican Sen. Jon Husted in Ohio, who faces former Senate Banking Committee Chair Sherrod Brown, a longtime crypto skeptic. Stand With Crypto also backed Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson in Iowa and Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas in New Hampshire. The group said it selects candidates based on their crypto policy positions 'regardless of party.'

The endorsements come after the Clarity Act failed to advance in the Senate last month, with Democrats voting as a bloc amid concerns over President Donald Trump's crypto dealings. Stand With Crypto framed this defeat as a turning point, warning that senators' votes would be added to its public scorecard and that its supporters would judge lawmakers at the ballot box.
