Standard Chartered Expert Bets on Altcoin Surge
Geoff Kendrick, an expert at Standard Chartered, has revealed that his investment bets are not on Ripple's XRP, but rather on four alternative cryptocurrencies. According to him, tokenization has already won, and he believes that altcoins will benefit from this shift. He draws a comparison between the current crypto market and Amazon's stock in 2001, which crashed from $113 to $6 despite improving internal metrics.
Kendrick argues that cryptocurrency is moving towards a world where revenue matters, similar to Mag 7 stocks today. He has built discounted cash flow models for individual projects, tied directly to stablecoins proving blockchain can replace real-world financial infrastructure.
The expert's thesis is anchored on two forecasts: stablecoins reaching $2 trillion and tokenized assets reaching the same mark, up from roughly $40 billion currently. He targets four altcoins: Uniswap, Aave, Arbitrum (which has already seen a 60% increase in price since his call was published), and Chainlink.
Kendrick's targets for these altcoins are ambitious: he predicts that Uniswap will reach $100 by 2030, Aave will hit $3,500, Arbitrum will reach $10 (roughly 70x upside), and Chainlink will reach $200. He also believes that Ethereum will see a significant price increase to $4,000 by year-end and $40,000 by 2030.
