Standard Chartered Researcher Picks Top Altcoins for Next Decade
Standard Chartered's head of digital assets research, Geoffrey Kendrick, has made some bold predictions for four altcoins. Tokenization is now a done deal, and he expects these coins to capture a significant share of the money flowing into decentralized finance (DeFi). Uniswap (UNI) is his top pick, with a potential price target of $100 by 2030. However, Kendrick admits that this might be too low, considering the token's recent performance.
Uniswap has seen its price surge above $9, thanks in part to the burn mechanism activated last December. Kendrick believes this will continue to drive up the price, giving UNI a strong moat over its rivals. While other platforms have tried to compete with rewards and incentives, Uniswap's approach is more sustainable.
Kendrick also highlights Aave (AAVE), which he sees as the leader in on-chain banking. Despite being hit by a $300 million exploit linked to Kelp in April, the community quickly responded and raised funds to mitigate the damage. Kendrick believes this demonstrates Aave's resilience and its potential for long-term success.
Morpho (MORPHO) is another altcoin on Kendrick's list, with a target price of $60 by 2030. Unlike Aave, which operates like a bank, Morpho is more focused on providing asset management services to institutional investors. This approach sets it apart from its competitors and positions it for success in the medium term.
Finally, Kendrick sees Arbitrum (ARB) as his biggest call, with a potential price target of $10 by 2030. He highlights the platform's strong revenue growth, thanks in part to its partnership with Robinhood Chain. If more firms follow this model, Arbitrum's revenue could surge to $40-50 million per month within two years.
