Standard Chartered Sees XRP as a Loser, Bets on 4 Altcoin Winners
Standard Chartered's Geoff Kendrick says tokenization has already won, and XRP is not where he's putting his bet. Kendrick, a prominent figure in the crypto world, believes that tokenization-linked altcoins are where improvement should finally show up in price. He draws a comparison between crypto and Amazon's 2001 crash, where internal metrics improved even as the stock collapsed.
Kendrick argues that crypto is moving from a world where revenue didn't matter to one where it's the only thing that does, much like Mag 7 stocks today. He's built discounted cash flow models for individual projects, tied directly to stablecoins proving blockchain can replace real-world financial infrastructure.
Two forecasts anchor his thesis: stablecoins reaching $2 trillion, and tokenized assets reaching the same mark, up from roughly $40 billion currently. Kendrick targets four altcoins: Uniswap ($100 by 2030), Aave ($3,500 by 2030), Arbitrum ($10 by 2030), and Chainlink ($200 by 2030).
