Starknet Smashes Through 2 Million TPS Barrier After Bolt Upgrade
Starknet has achieved a significant milestone by reaching 2.1 million transactions per second (TPS) in benchmark testing, following the recent Bolt upgrade. This upgrade introduced parallel execution and block packing, which have improved network performance and reduced confirmation times to under 2 seconds for 80% of transactions.
The Bolt upgrade has also maintained average transaction fees at $0.002, making Starknet a competitive option for developers building computationally intensive applications on the Ethereum Layer-1 (L1) network.
The STRK tokenomics and DeFi liquidity have been rebooted with a $740 million incentive program to provide liquidity to the ecosystem. This redistribution uses a portion of the 1.8 billion STRK allocated for community programs, bringing the total supply to 10 billion and the circulating supply to 7.4 billion.
Appchains on Starknet allow developers to configure block size, latency, and consensus mechanisms to match specific application needs, providing super scaling capabilities and customization through Cairo 3.0.
