Starknet Surges 28% on Privacy Buzz and Strong Buying
Starknet (STRK) has surged 28% in the past day, breaking out from a week-long consolidation around $0.041 and reaching a five-month high of $0.056. At press time, the token traded near $0.055, with trading volume spiking 321% to $186 million. Its market cap also climbed 30%, surpassing $400 million and returning STRK to CoinMarketCap’s top 100.
The rally has been fueled by growing interest in Starknet’s privacy features, despite STRK not being a privacy coin itself. Discussions on social media platform X highlighted the potential of privacy applications within the Starknet ecosystem, including private swaps and perpetuals, which could drive further demand.
Derivatives market activity also increased, with open interest rising 4% to $86.5 million and derivatives volume up 76%. Spot purchases by notable wallets, such as one linked to Quanterty buying 17.4 million STRK worth $767,000, added to the bullish sentiment. However, spot netflow on October 4th showed outflows exceeding inflows by $731,000, suggesting accumulation but not confirming fresh buying.
Technically, STRK’s Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicated a bullish crossover, supporting the upward momentum. Holding the $0.05 level is crucial for further gains, with the next target being $0.06. A failure to maintain this level could lead to a retreat toward $0.041.
