Starknet's new privacy framework, Shieldnet, has been rolled out on its Ethereum Layer 2 network. The system uses zero-knowledge proofs to encrypt transaction data, keeping sender, receiver, and amounts private while allowing selective disclosure to regulators. This framework supports DeFi activities like swaps and liquidity provision, with integrations including AVNU and Ekubo.

Since Shieldnet's rollout in May 2026, the privacy pool has processed over 14,000 deposits and locked around $350,000 in value, marking a significant step for privacy in blockchain transactions. This system protects transaction details for 45 ERC-20 tokens on the Starknet network.
