StarkWare Cuts QSB Transaction Costs by Nearly 80% Amid Ongoing Quantum Threat Worries
StarkWare has reported significant progress in reducing the computational cost of constructing Quantum-Safe Bitcoin (QSB) transactions. The estimated cost has fallen to under $67, down from approximately $320 for the first QSB transaction demonstrated on mainnet in August.
This reduction is attributed to optimization efforts connected to StarkWare's QSB work, which have been driven by the Quantum-Safe Bitcoin Optimization Challenge. The challenge, which ran from September 16, invited developers and researchers to refine the software needed to generate QSB transactions more efficiently.
According to StarkWare, the resulting improvements reduced the estimated computing cost by about 79%. However, the company emphasizes that these optimizations are verified via benchmarks, not renewed full mainnet demonstrations. The latest figure is reflected on the Yukon QSB dashboard and suggests a continued decline in benchmark costs.
