StarkWare Issues Quantum-Safe Bitcoin Autoresearch Challenge with $20K in Rewards
StarkWare has launched the Quantum-Safe Bitcoin Autoresearch Challenge in collaboration with Yukon Research and Eigen Labs. The challenge aims to optimize code that makes quantum-resistant Bitcoin transactions cheaper and more practical, with a prize pool exceeding $20,000.
The first week of the challenge offers $2,000 in rewards for early participants, who will focus on optimizing transaction pinning and subset selection bottlenecks. These computational chokepoints currently make quantum-safe Bitcoin transactions expensive to produce.
The QSB methodology developed by Avihu Levy is a hash-based approach that makes Bitcoin transactions resistant to quantum computers without requiring changes to consensus rules. It uses signature grinding and hash-based puzzles within the existing legacy Script constraints of 201 opcodes and 10,000 bytes.
