Steak 'n Shake, the Indianapolis-based fast-food burger franchise, has seen a significant surge in same-store sales since adopting Bitcoin payments. The company reported an 11% increase in same-store sales in Q2 of 2025 and accelerated to 15% in Q3, surpassing major industry competitors like McDonald's, Taco Bell, and Domino's.

The adoption of Bitcoin through the Lightning Network has enabled faster and more cost-effective transactions, allowing Steak 'n Shake to reduce processing fees by approximately half compared to traditional credit card systems. This operational advantage has positioned the company as an industry leader in same-store sales growth.

'Bitcoin is real money made with real energy,' said Michael Boes, Chief MAHA Officer at Steak 'n Shake. He emphasized the central role that cost savings and technical efficiency played in the company's financial resurgence.
