Stellar Brings Speed and Cost Advantages to BVNK's Enterprise Customers
BVNK, now part of Mastercard, has integrated the Stellar blockchain into its stablecoin payments platform. This move allows BVNK's enterprise customers to access another network for moving money across borders through a single API.
The integration brings Stellar's speed and cost advantages to BVNK's clients, who can use it for cross-border business-to-business payments, supplier settlements, and international invoicing. The addition of Stellar also gives businesses the option to use stablecoins to move liquidity between subsidiaries and banking partners without relying on sequential correspondent-bank processing.
The integration is significant because it marks a strategic shift for Mastercard in building out its stablecoin infrastructure at scale. With this move, Mastercard demonstrates its commitment to providing businesses with a wide range of settlement choices through its digital asset platform.
Mastercard's acquisition of BVNK earlier this year was valued at up to $1.8 billion and has given the company direct control over settlement rails instead of dependence on an outside vendor.
