Stellar Integrates with BVNK Payment Rail Amid Market Volatility
The Stellar Development Foundation announced that BVNK has integrated its payment rail with the Stellar network. The partnership allows businesses to move money at scale across more than 130 countries, citing technical metrics such as average settlement in five seconds and transaction costs of a fraction of a cent.
The integration is significant because BVNK's parent company, Mastercard, brings distribution channels to banks and merchants that a fintech does not have on its own. However, the news does not imply immediate demand pressure on the XLM price.
XLM is the native token of the Stellar network and pays for network fees, which are a tiny fraction of a cent per transaction. The token's functions and volume figures do not directly feed through to its price. The integration with BVNK may create a larger economic base for the network itself over years rather than days.
