Stellar Outshines XRP as Fourth Quarter Looms
Stellar (CRYPTO:XLM) has broken above its 50-week moving average while XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) remains below its own average. This technical indicator suggests that many investors who bought XRP over the past year are still at a loss, with an average decline of around 12%. They may be inclined to sell their holdings during rallies near $1.56.
Stellar has shown stronger monthly growth than XRP, appreciating 16.4% over the past 30 days compared to XRP's 7.2% increase. This trend also holds through 2026, with XRP down 14% and Stellar up 8%. The two coins were designed for faster and cheaper cross-border payments than traditional bank transfers.
XRP benefits from direct investor access through U.S. spot ETFs, which saw inflows of $75.6 million between September 21 and September 25. However, this may not be enough to propel XRP above its 50-week average in the fourth quarter.
