The Stellar (XLM) blockchain network has set a new record for transaction speed, reaching 217.4 transactions per second (TPS). This surpasses its previous peak of approximately 211 TPS, which was achieved just two weeks prior.

The upgrade to Protocol 28, also known as the Adapter, played a significant role in this achievement. It introduced an accelerated consensus mechanism that allows validators to begin voting before the entire batch of transactions is delivered, eliminating minor delays during peak demand.

An update to the Soroban smart contract platform was also implemented, optimizing its handling of large data sets.
