Stellar's Entry Bar Sits Surprisingly Low
The Stellar network's distribution data has revealed that holding over 1,075 XLM puts you in the top 10% of all holders. This number is significantly lower than expected, with the current price of XLM around $0.174, making it roughly $187 to join this exclusive group.
Furthermore, the top 1% threshold is set at around 22,446 XLM, which still falls under $4,000. The top 5% land near 3,751 XLM. These numbers are surprising, given that 'crypto whale' status typically demands six- or seven-figure bags.
The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) still controls a significant chunk of the remaining tokens under its mandate, which means distribution can shift over time. However, the current holder curve is what it is: accessible. This accessibility has both benefits and drawbacks, as it lowers the psychological barrier for new capital but also underlines how fragmented ownership remains.
The broader pitch for Stellar hasn't changed much, focusing on fast, cheap cross-border payments, asset tokenization, and partnerships that keep expanding. The network continues to push real-world utility while the price sits far below previous cycle highs.
