Strategy Adds 1,665 BTC to Holdings for $142.7 Million
Strategy, a company with a significant corporate Bitcoin position, has made another substantial purchase of the digital asset. Between September 21 and September 27, it acquired 1,665 BTC for approximately $142.7 million, taking its total holdings to 847,666 BTC.
The acquisition was announced on September 28, alongside a larger set of capital-management transactions. The company used proceeds from the sale of Class A common stock to fund both the Bitcoin purchase and buybacks of STRC preferred shares.
Strategy paid an average price of $85,681 per BTC for the latest tranche, which is higher than its portfolio-wide average cost of $75,437 per BTC. This difference reflects the accumulated cost of Strategy's full holdings rather than a change to the terms of the latest purchase.
