Strategy Adds 334 Bitcoin to Its Record-High Holdings
Strategy has bolstered its Bitcoin holdings with the purchase of 334 BTC for approximately $28.7 million between September 28 and October 4, 2026. The average price per Bitcoin during this acquisition was $85,838.80, as detailed in a Form 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Michael Saylor, co-founder and executive chairman of Strategy, confirmed the transaction.
The latest purchase brings Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings to 848,000 BTC, a new all-time high for the company. The accumulated cost of these holdings, including fees and expenses, is around $64 billion, with an average price of $75,440.70 per Bitcoin. At current market value, the inventory is worth approximately $73 billion, resulting in a paper gain of roughly $9 billion. The firm now controls more than 4% of the maximum Bitcoin supply of 21 million.
Funding for the acquisition came from a combination of sources. Strategy sold 92,894 Class A common shares (MSTR) for approximately $15.7 million and used $13 million from its cash reserves. As of October 4, $18.8 billion in shares remained available under that program. The USD Cash reserve closed the period with a balance of $833.4 million, while the USD Reserve stood at around $4.88 billion.
Additionally, Strategy repurchased 1.77 million STRC preferred shares for around $176.3 million. Of this amount, $154.1 million came from the USD Cash reserve and $22.2 million from interest generated by short-term investments. Furthermore, $142.5 million from the USD Reserve was allocated to dividends on preferred shares and interest on outstanding debt. Saylor posted on X a chart with the message 'More orange than ever,' a signal that has previously anticipated similar announcements.
