Strategy Boosts Bitcoin Holdings to 848,000 BTC with Latest Purchase
Strategy, the world's leading corporate holder of Bitcoin (BTC), announced on October 5, 2026, that it had acquired an additional 334 BTC between October 1 and October 4. The purchase was made at an average cost of approximately $85,839 per BTC, including fees and expenses, totaling around $28.7 million (about 45.3 billion yen). This brings Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings to 848,000 BTC as of October 4, with an average acquisition cost of $75,441 per BTC.
The company's latest acquisition marks the third consecutive week of Bitcoin purchases, following a previous buy on September 28. After a two-month hiatus from reporting additional acquisitions, Strategy resumed its buying spree on August 31 and continued the trend with purchases on September 21 and September 28.
In addition to its Bitcoin purchases, Strategy repurchased 1,773,802 shares of its variable dividend perpetual preferred stock (STRC) between September 28 and October 4. The total cost of the repurchase was approximately $176.3 million (about 27.9 billion yen), funded by $154.1 million in cash and $22.2 million in interest income from cash equivalents and short-term investments.
As of October 4, 2026, Strategy reported holding $5.7 billion in USD assets. The company also announced a $21 billion gain on digital assets for Q3 2026.
