Strategy Boosts Cash Reserve Amid BTC Price Volatility
Strategy's USD reserve balance has increased by $225 million to $3.23 billion after selling approximately $263.5 million in MSTR shares between July 13 and July 19, according to an 8-K filing submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 20.
The company did not use any of the proceeds from these sales to buy Bitcoin (BTC) during this period. Strategy's BTC holdings remain unchanged at 843,775 BTC, which represents roughly 4% of Bitcoin's fixed maximum supply of 21 million coins.
Strategy accumulated its BTC holdings at an average cost of $75,476 per coin, resulting in a total acquisition cost of approximately $63.7 billion, including fees and expenses.
Despite the company's cash accumulation efforts, JPMorgan analysts noted that Strategy still needs to establish a consistent framework for timing BTC purchases and a structured plan for selling during future market upswings.
