Strategy Buys Another 950 BTC for $75.7M Amid Shrinking Cash Pool
Strategy Inc., the company formerly known as MicroStrategy, has made another large Bitcoin purchase. According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on September 21, Strategy bought 950 BTC for $75.7 million during the week of September 14-20, 2026.
The average price per Bitcoin was $79,670. This purchase brings Strategy's aggregate Bitcoin holdings to 846,000 coins, acquired for a total of $63.80 billion at an average cost of $75,416 per Bitcoin.
Strategy also reported that its preferred stock buybacks rose to $174.0 million for 1,771,238 shares, up from $139.3 million the previous week. The company's USD Cash reserve fell to $1.05 billion after funding both the Bitcoin purchase and the STRC buyback.
Strategy has not drawn on its at-the-market equity program, which sold zero shares of common stock during the week. This means that both the Bitcoin purchase and the preferred stock repurchase were funded entirely from cash on hand.
