Strategy Buys Back Over 1,600 Bitcoin in Latest Purchase Spree
Strategy, a company known for its significant bitcoin holdings, has made another major purchase. This time, it bought 1,665 BTC between September 21 and September 27, at an average price of $85,681 per coin, including fees.
The purchase was funded by the sale of MSTR Class A shares through Strategy's at-the-market program. The company sold 1,469,165 shares for a net proceeds of $246.2 million, with $142.7 million allocated to bitcoin and the remaining $103.5 million used to repurchase STRC preferred stock.
This latest buy brings Strategy's total holdings to 847,666 BTC, surpassing its pre-summer sales level of 847,363 BTC as of June 21. The company had sold a combined 6,916 BTC between June 29 and August 9, using the proceeds to fund preferred dividends, refill its dividend reserve, and buy back STRC stock.
Notably, Strategy's average purchase price for last week's bitcoin was approximately 14% higher than the $75,437 per coin average cost of its full stack. The company's USD Cash account now holds $723.5 million, down from $1.59 billion when it was established in late August.
