Strategy Clarifies Bitcoin Stance Amid $5 Billion Sales Authorization
Strategy Chairman Michael Saylor has clarified the company's stance on selling its Bitcoin holdings. Contrary to reports, Strategy had never made a commitment to never sell its Bitcoins.
Saylor stated that the company had received new authorization allowing it to sell up to $5 billion worth of BTC, but emphasized that this was not new news. The sales authorization was announced on June 29th as part of the company's capital management framework.
This framework permits the sale of BTC for specified purposes, but does not require the company to do so. Saylor stressed that Strategy expects to remain a net Bitcoin buyer in the long term.
