Strategy Extends Bitcoin Pause Amid Repurchase Focus
Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, has extended its pause on purchasing BTC. The company made its last acquisition between August 24-30, buying 4,603 Bitcoins at an average price of $80,318. This brings Strategy's total holdings to 845,050 BTC, valued at a staggering $63,730,000,000 with an average purchase price of $75,412.
In the meantime, from September 3 to 17, 2026, Strategy focused on repurchasing STRC preferred shares. The company spent around $139.3 million on approximately 1,420,467 shares during this period. This is not an isolated instance; previously, it allocated $176 million for the same purpose and increased the limit of the Digital Credit Securities repurchase program from $1 billion to $2 billion.
As there's currently no information on planned BTC purchases, some may speculate that Strategy is shifting its strategy. However, this does not necessarily indicate a complete halt in Bitcoin accumulation. The situation remains unclear and requires further monitoring.
