Strategy Inc Hints at Returning to Bitcoin Buying After 10-Week Hiatus
Strategy Inc's executive chairman Michael Saylor hinted at returning to buying Bitcoin (BTC) after a 10-week hiatus. The company, which holds over $65 billion worth of BTC, had not disclosed any new purchases since acquiring 520 BTC in mid-June.
Saylor tweeted 'We're ₿ack' on Sunday, which has often preceded an announcement of a fresh Bitcoin buy. Strategy's last reported purchase was on June 22, when the company bought 520 BTC worth about $34.9 million at an average price of $67,068 per coin.
During the past 10 weeks, Strategy focused on capital management, selling some of its BTC holdings and using the proceeds to buy back preferred stock and raise cash through a stock-sale program. The company's combined dollar liquidity increased to $6.69 billion, including a restricted USD reserve of $5.10 billion and USD cash of $1.59 billion.
If Saylor's post leads to a new Bitcoin purchase, it would be the longest stretch without a BTC buy in 2026 and a step back toward accumulation for Strategy. BTC's price has gained over 25% in August and is currently trading at around $78,000.
