Strategy Inc. Stock Surges Amid New Liquidity Pool and Record-Breaking Crypto Fundraising
Strategy Inc.'s stock surged 4.5% in morning trading after the company disclosed the creation of a $1.59 billion liquidity pool, named 'USD Cash,' within its Digital Credit Capital Framework.
The filing revealed that Strategy raised approximately $2.01 billion through its at-the-market equity offering program between August 17 and August 23, selling over 18.2 million shares of Class A common stock to fund the new pool.
The company allocated the proceeds across three uses: $300 million was directed to its existing USD Reserve, bringing that balance to $5.1 billion; $136.4 million was used to repurchase approximately 1.43 million shares of its STRC variable-rate preferred stock; and the remainder was deposited into the newly established USD Cash account.
Investors interpreted the move as a sign of improved financial flexibility and balance sheet discipline, particularly the ability to navigate Bitcoin market volatility while maintaining optionality for future BTC accumulation.
The announcement arrived against a supportive crypto backdrop, as Bitcoin prices held near $79,000 today, well above Strategy’s average acquisition cost of approximately $75,385 per coin, meaning the company’s 840,447 BTC treasury is currently sitting in unrealized profit.
