Strategy Inc's MSTR Shares Decline Amid $297M Bitcoin Movement
Strategy Inc's MSTR shares traded near $156.51 on Tuesday, down about 3% from the previous week.
A $297 million bitcoin movement out of Strategy-associated wallets sparked speculation among market participants that the company might be liquidating its holdings.
However, Arkham researchers confirmed that these transactions were routine internal operations at Fidelity Custody, rather than any divestment of Strategy's bitcoin reserves.
Fidelity manages client bitcoin holdings through pooled arrangements instead of maintaining isolated wallets for individual customers. When the custodian reorganizes its internal wallet structure, transactions may appear to exit a client's address despite no actual change in beneficial ownership.
Strategy purchased an additional 1,665 BTC last week, spending $142.7 million, and has now accumulated 847,666 BTC, valued at approximately $71 billion at present market rates.
