Strategy MSTR's $297M Bitcoin Wallet Shuffle Raises Questions
Michael Saylor's company Strategy MSTR made a notable Bitcoin move on Tuesday. According to Lookonchain, 3.57K BTC were transferred out of the company's wallet. The timing is interesting because this came just a day after Strategy bought another 1.67K BTC for $142.7M. This acquisition brought its total holdings to 847.67K BTC.
The on-chain analysis suggested that the receiving addresses are part of Fidelity's custody system, indicating an internal wallet reshuffle rather than a sale. The transfer of 3.57K BTC was valued at around $297M. Bitcoin's price recovered slightly after the news, settling near $83.9K.
Saylor has described Strategy as 'digital equity' and STRC as 'digital credit'. This latest move appears consistent with managing that large Bitcoin treasury rather than exiting it.
