Strategy Pauses Bitcoin Buying, Adds $1.9B to Cash Reserves
Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, has paused its aggressive Bitcoin buying strategy for now. Instead of purchasing BTC last week, the business intelligence firm increased its U.S. dollar holdings by $1.9 billion, according to its latest regulatory filing.
This move signals a potential shift in treasury management tactics, even though the company remains the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. Since 2020, Strategy has consistently used debt and equity offerings to fund BTC acquisitions, amassing over 450,000 BTC.
The $1.9 billion increase in dollar holdings was funded through the sale of shares, a common method the company uses to raise capital. The absence of a purchase last week may temper short-term bullish momentum, but it does not indicate a reversal of the company's long-term strategy.
