Strategy Pledges to Resume Bitcoin Buys After Strong Net Gains
Strategy, the world's largest corporate Bitcoin accumulation vehicle, has pushed back against growing investor concerns by confirming it will resume buying BTC later this year. According to CEO Phong Le, the company netted a significant gain of 175K vs 7K sold in recent months.
The most recent sale involved 1,690 BTC offloaded between August 3-9 for approximately $108.6 million at an average price of ~$64,262 per coin. However, Le emphasized that the sales were not a retreat, with proceeds going towards preferred-stock dividends, share repurchases, and building a U.S. dollar cash reserve.
Strategy currently holds 840,447 BTC, acquired at an average cost basis of approximately $75,385 per coin. The company's Bitcoin accumulation program is authorized to monetize up to $1.25 billion through its BTC Monetization Program, a structured flexibility tool not intended as an exit strategy.
