Strategy Resumes Bitcoin Purchases After Two-and-a-Half-Month Hiatus
Strategy, the world's largest Bitcoin (BTC) holding company, has resumed its purchase of Bitcoin after a two-and-a-half-month hiatus. In an announcement on August 31, Strategy revealed it bought 4,603 Bitcoins for $369.7 million in the week from August 24 to 30.
The average purchase price was $83,318 per coin. This increased the company's cumulative Bitcoin holdings to 845,050, with a total amount of purchases reaching $63.73 billion and a cumulative average purchase price of $75,413.
Strategy sold 4,531,421 common shares (MSTR) on the market to raise funds for the purchase of this Bitcoin. The company used the raised funds not only for purchasing Bitcoin but also to pay preferential stock (STRC) dividends and finance treasury stock purchase programs.
