Strategy Resumes Buying Bitcoin, Sees Rising Price As Catalyst For Further Purchases
Strategy, an investment company that has been purchasing Bitcoin (BTC) in recent years, resumed buying BTC after a pause. The company's president, Michael Saylor, explained how they plan to continue acquiring Bitcoin as they raise capital through equity and loan products.
Saylor noted that the rise in Bitcoin's price could support further BTC purchases by reducing funding costs for the company. He stated that 'Bitcoin's appreciation creates a cycle that strengthens our access to capital.'
According to Saylor, the key points driving this strategy are the limited supply of Bitcoin and Strategy's market capitalization. As investors become more interested in STRC, a variable in this structure, funding costs for Strategy could decrease, allowing the company to raise new capital under favorable conditions.
Saylor highlighted that while accumulating more BTC becomes exponentially more difficult as the price rises, the company remains committed to being a net buyer of Bitcoin. He also noted that the appreciation of Strategy's financing instruments and the growth of its securities and stock price are complementary to the rise in Bitcoin's price.
