Strategy, one of the world's largest corporate Bitcoin holders, has made another significant sale of its cryptocurrency holdings. The company sold 1,690 BTC for approximately $108.6 million, bringing its total Bitcoin sales in 2023 to 6,948 BTC. This transaction follows earlier disposals of 32 BTC, 3,588 BTC, and 1,638 BTC.

Longtime Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff argued that this sale suggests lenders still prefer dollars over Bitcoin when securing financing. He also urged investors to sell MSTR shares and Bitcoin. Strategy used the proceeds from the sale to repurchase its STRC preferred stock.

Macro strategist Dan Hillery offered a different perspective, describing the transactions as a way to optimize the company's balance sheet during periods of market volatility. Despite the recent sales, Strategy remains one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin, with 840,447 BTC as of August 10.
