Strategy Sells 1,690 Bitcoin to Fund STRC Repurchases
Michael Saylor's Strategy has made significant changes to its treasury structure by selling approximately 1,690 Bitcoin and using the proceeds to repurchase STRC shares. The company now holds 840,447 BTC after reducing its Bitcoin reserve from 842,138 BTC previously disclosed.
The sale of 1,638 BTC between July 27 and August 2 at an average price of $63,957 raised about $104.7 million. This amount was directed toward STRC dividends and share repurchases, with Strategy using about $52.4 million to fund dividends on its preferred stock.
Strategy also reported a $650 million increase in its USD reserve, bringing the balance to $4.65 billion as of August 9. The company said this move increased its USD duration by 143 days to 2.7 years, giving it additional funds for its preferred stock obligations and other corporate needs.
The larger cash reserve tightens STRC's Bitcoin credit by 10 basis points. Strategy has continued to build its cash position while keeping a large Bitcoin reserve, with its Bitcoin holdings acquired for a total of about $63.5 billion, giving the treasury an average purchase price near $75,419 per BTC.
