Strategy Shifts Focus from Bitcoin, Aims to Boost STRC Value

Michael Saylor's Strategy Inc., which had been focused on buying Bitcoin (BTC) with its funds, has shifted its priorities. After a net loss of $8.2 billion in Q2 2026, Strategy will no longer use 100% of its funds to buy BTC.

Saylor noted during the company's earnings call that perhaps the best way to buy more Bitcoin is not to do it immediately. He stated this after CEO Phong Le said the company would not buy more BTC until STRC (Strategy's preferred stock) gets back to par.

STRC dropped slightly on July 31, closing at $89. Strategy purchased back $25 million worth of STRC between July 20 and July 24 while selling $544 million worth of MSTR shares to push the value of STRC back to $100.
