Strategy Stock Plummets Amid Bitcoin Security Efforts
Strategy's (MSTR) stock plummeted by over 4% at market open on Thursday, despite its efforts to secure Bitcoin through a consortium of major players.
The group, which includes Anchorage Digital, ARK Invest, BlackRock (BLK), Block (XYZ), Blockstream, Coinbase (COIN), Fidelity Digital Assets, and Galaxy Digital (GLXY), has committed $15 million over three years for developer funding and research on post-quantum cryptography.
Strategy CEO Phong Le explained that the firm's interest in securing Bitcoin lies in its status as the largest corporate holder of BTC. The group aims to prepare Bitcoin for potential quantum computing risks, which are estimated to be years away but considered a technical priority by the community.
