Strategy Stock Surges 2.44% After Adding 334 BTC to Holdings
Strategy stock experienced a 2.44% rise on October 5 after the company announced the acquisition of 334 BTC, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 848,000 coins. The stock opened near $164.20, dipped to $161.50, and then recovered to test resistance at $164.80. This increase came amid a reported $20.91 billion gain on digital assets for the third quarter.
Strategy also repurchased about $176.3 million of STRC preferred stock across two reporting periods, with $547.2 million remaining available under the repurchase program as of October 4, 2026. The company had $620.9 million available under the same program as of September 30 and retained $1 billion under its MSTR stock repurchase program.
During the week ending October 4, Strategy used $13 million in cash to purchase Bitcoin and $154.1 million of USD cash for STRC stock repurchases. The company's USD Reserve stood at $4.88 billion, with $833.4 million in USD cash held as of October 4. These funds are used for Bitcoin acquisitions and expanding the USD reserve.
The company reported a $20.91 billion gain on digital assets for the third quarter, along with a $1.88 billion net deferred tax liability tied to its Bitcoin holdings. The digital asset carrying value was reported at $70.82 billion as of September 30.
