Strategy Transfers 1,030 BTC Amid Ongoing Bitcoin Sales
Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, has made another significant move in its Bitcoin holdings. The company transferred 1,030 BTC worth approximately $66.14 million on Wednesday, according to on-chain tracker Lookonchain.
This latest wallet movement follows the company's earlier disclosure that it sold 1,638 BTC during the previous week at an average price of $63,957. That transaction generated about $104.7 million and reduced Strategy's Bitcoin holdings to 842,138 BTC, which remains worth more than $52 billion based on current market prices.
Strategy said the recent Bitcoin sale helped fund preferred dividend payments and repurchases of STRC shares. The company sold the coins below its average acquisition cost of $75,419, while second-quarter obligations related to dividends and buybacks totaled about $400.7 million.
Executive Chairman Michael Saylor responded to criticism surrounding the company's recent Bitcoin sale by separating his personal investment approach from Strategy's corporate treasury decisions. He clarified that Strategy has never had a 'never sell' policy and expects to remain a net buyer of Bitcoin over time, despite the recent sale.
