Strategy's Ambitious Bid to Outsize Tech Giants
Strategy, the company behind the BTC holdings, has set an ambitious target to become the biggest company in the world, surpassing giants like Nvidia, Meta, and Google. To achieve this goal, Strategy has raised $20.9 billion and holds a significant amount of Bitcoin, with 845,050 BTC acquired for roughly $63.73 billion at an average cost of $75,412 per coin.
The company's market capitalization is around $55 billion, which is a far cry from Nvidia's value of roughly $5.5 trillion. To bridge this gap, Strategy would need to significantly increase its market value or Bitcoin's price would have to skyrocket to make up the difference.
Strategy has been using its preferred stock program to manage its financing obligations and maintain a cash reserve. The company can also sell Bitcoin to replenish its dollar reserve if needed.
