Strategy's Big Bitcoin Buy and Bitmine's Ethereum Mishap
A significant investment firm, Strategy, has made a notable purchase of Bitcoin (BTC). Last week, they bought 1,665 BTC at $85,681 for a total of $143 million. This acquisition brings their current holdings to 847,666 BTC, valued at approximately $70.677 billion, with an average cost of $75,437 per coin.
This investment has resulted in significant unrealized profits, totaling $6.731 billion. Meanwhile, another entity, Bitmine, acquired 17,362 Ether (ETH) near the price of $2,710 for a total of $47.05 million. Their current holdings amount to 6,001,302 ETH, valued at around $16.101 billion, with an average cost of $3,337 per coin.
The recent purchase by Strategy indicates their confidence in Bitcoin's value. However, Bitmine's investment in Ethereum has led to a substantial unrealized loss of $3.925 billion.
