Strategy's Bitcoin Buying May Resume as Saylor Signals Return
Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy Inc (MSTR), sent a 'We're Back' message on X, hinting that his company may resume buying Bitcoin after a two-month hiatus. This break from purchases was part of a strategic move to stabilize the balance sheet and accumulate dollar reserves.
During this period, Strategy focused on financial restructuring by liquidating parts of its Bitcoin position and selling MSTR shares to build up reserves. The efforts were successful in creating a robust $5.1 billion USD reserve alongside a $1.59 billion cash position.
The company's preferred shares (STRC) reached $98 on Friday, with Strategy expected to continue buyback efforts to drive the price toward its $100 par value. With Bitcoin trading around $79,000 and Strategy's 840,447 Bitcoins acquired at an average price of approximately $75,385, their aggregate position has returned to profitability.
This return to profit, combined with a fortified balance sheet, seems to have established the conditions Saylor was targeting before reactivating the company's accumulation strategy. If Monday brings an official treasury announcement, it would signal Strategy's reentry into consistent Bitcoin purchasing rhythm that characterized much of the previous two years.
